Have you registered in Cleveland for the brand new recycling program ? The time is now !
Cleveland, OH — After a faulty start that saw residents separate their recyclables only to have the city dump the trash into one big pile, residents can now again enroll in the City of Cleveland’s new-and-improved curbside recycling program. Recyclables will be picked up weekly by City of Cleveland crews beginning June 13, 2022.
Residents can register for the program by visiting CLErecycles.com or by calling (216) 664-3030.
“We are proud to bring recycling back to Cleveland and consider curbside recycling a basic city service that we are committed to getting right,” said Mayor Justin M. Bibb. “I hope residents will join us in this effort to reduce landfill waste and work toward a greener future.”
No action is needed from the approximately 27,000 households that enrolled during the Fall 2021 enrollment period. There is no additional cost for residents associated with the new recycling program.
All enrolled households will receive a welcome packet that includes everything needed to get started in the new recycling program. The packet includes FAQs, an expanded list of what is recyclable under the new program, a list of recycling dos and don’ts and — most importantly — a set of stickers that must be placed on the blue recycling bin to identify it as enrolled in the program.
Because items placed in blue bins have previously been collected as trash, it is critical that the stickers are placed on the bins per the instructions in the welcome packets. Packets will be mailed to residents on a rolling basis. Those already enrolled can expect packets in May, those enrolling in May can expect packets in June and so on through the end of the enrollment period on July 31, 2022.
Blue bin contents NOT marked with City of Cleveland recycling stickers will continue to be picked up as trash over the summer.
In Fall 2022, blue bins from households not participating in the recycling program will no longer be picked up as trash and the bins themselves will be collected for reuse in the recycling program.

In October 2021, the City of Cleveland Heights entered into an agreement with Start Right CDC to construct up to 23 new homes in the Caledonia neighborhood. Start Right CDC is required to complete construction of three homes by the end of 2022 and must complete a minimum of six homes by June 30, 2024.
All Caledonia Homes will be built on City-owned property along Nelaview, Greyton, Hanover, and Dresden Roads in Cleveland Heights. “The last recession and housing crisis carved holes in some of our city’s neighborhoods, leaving vacant lots where there used to be homes and families,” Cleveland Heights Mayor Kahlil Seren said. “The City of Cleveland Heights is committed to restoring the fabric of these neighborhoods by working with our partners to put homes back on these vacant properties.”

“We are still evaluating the information about inaccurate results and are in direct communications with Abbott about this important issue. Vice President Kamala Harris spoke out today in hopes of helping to heal the hurt that the nation is feeling after a horrendous mass shooting in Buffalo, New York this past weekend.
“Today our hearts are broken and we grieve for the victims of the horrific act of gun violence in Buffalo and for their families and friends. The Second Gentleman and I are praying for all those who knew and lost love ones.
Law enforcement is proceeding with its investigation, but what is clear is that we are seeing an epidemic of hate across our country that has been evidenced by acts of violence and intolerance. Campaign promotes vital resources to help people quit smoking
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Tips From Former Smokers® (Tips®) campaign, now celebrating its 10th anniversary, returns today with new ads encouraging people who smoke to quit. The campaign has had significant and sustained impact over the past decade, helping more than 1 million U.S. adults to quit smoking and inspiring millions more to try to quit. Year after year, the Tips campaign has proven its effectiveness while promoting a range of quit services.
In addition to promoting the 1-800-QUIT-NOW telephone-based counseling service, the Tips campaign will now also promote the new National Texting Portal developed in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute. Available in English and Spanish, the portal is designed to reach adults who may want to receive text messages to support them as they quit smoking. Adults can text QUITNOW to 333888 for free help in English or text DÉJELO YA to 333888 for free help in Spanish (mobile plan data and message rates may apply). Evidence-based texting services are an important complement to 1-800-QUIT-NOW, as texting services may reach people who want additional quit support but may be less likely to call a quitline.
