METRO URBAN NEWS 1 RADIO ADDS LONGTIME VOICE OF RADIO, VIVIAN LOUISE SHARP

Metro Urban News 1 Radio , Cleveland’s newest face on the music and entertainment front, is making a huge slash and everyone appears to like it.  According to the word on the streets, MUN1, is the choice station for those listeners who are on the smoother side of life. These smooth listeners are a population that would rather hear the cool sounds of Motown over the thuggish ruggish tones of Mo Thugs. Who, by the way is a Cleveland act. So, big ups and much respect y’all.

Still, so many stations are littered with songs that contain more four-letter words than a dictionary.  So, they have reached out to one of the long-time radio voices who has been on station s all across the nation. Vivian Louuise Sharp has joined the team of broadcasters at the station and her voice is surely recognized and welcomed. Lead Safe Ohio Program makes funds available for families

The new Lead Safe Ohio Program, which is part of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s ongoing efforts to make more of Ohio’s homes lead-safe for children and families, will invest $150 million toward state and local efforts to prevent lead poisoning and remediate homes of contamination.

Funds can be used for lead-safe building certification, screening and testing for lead poisoning, education and outreach, and early intervention for children and families impacted by lead.

Remaining funding will be used by the Ohio Department of Development for workforce development, recruitment and retention of lead contractors, and lead safe renovations such as window and door replacement in single-family homes, congregate care shelters and childcare facilities constructed before 1978.

The Ohio General Assembly funded the program in House Bill 45, with money appropriated through the American Rescue Plan Act. Governor DeWine signed the bill into law on Jan. 6, 2023.

The program will be administered by the Department of Development, in coordination with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH).

More information on the program, including guidelines for how to apply, will be released as it becomes available.

Earl Turner is still “ In the Neighborhood”

By Yarbor Lamont

Cleveland Clerk of Courts headmaster, Earl Turner, has for decades headed up one of the city’s largest departments and has done so to the delight and satisfaction of the residents that he represents.

Turner has held his position with the city since 1996 and has yet to rest on his laurels. Nope. Not for one second.

Just a few weeks ago, Turner was out in the community with his,”In the Neighborhood”, initiative that offers individuals who may have arrest warrants out in their names to meet at a safe  place in that individuals neighborhood. FLO-RIDA RIPS UP WONDERSTRUCK 2023 AT LAKELAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Story and photos by Ray Robinson

Of late, Cleveland has been on full tilt musically. The town was lit just a few days ago as hip-hop royalty descended upon the Land and congregated at the Rock Hall in celebration of 50 years of their music. Our music. Hip-Hop. The sound of musical youth.

Well, the flow didn’t stop as Wonderstruck, a Woodstock-ish 2-day music and love in, crash landed on the campus of Lakeland Community College July 8th and 9th.

With 3 stages going simultaneously, there was plenty sound to go around and artists were definitely not stingy on the portions they lavishly served up. In all, the affair boasts a whopping 23 artists onstage… all with the intention of busting your brain with some of the best music on the front today.  The menu consisted of a dash of alt-rock, country, pop and dance rock and rap.

On Saturday evening near the days end, rap impresario Flo-Rida, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, burst onto the smog-filled stage with a gang of high-energy lyrical assassins and they did the damn thang. The crowd responded just as expected, with hands pumping and bodies jumping. Oh yeah, can’t leave out all of the rumps that were bumping too.
