My name is Karen Murray-Banks. I’m the President and Founder of For Spectrum Sake and Others. Our 501c3 organization strives to support and advocate for caregivers who are responsible for a disabled loved one. Our group was formed by parents, families and friends who wanted to help with disparities related to the disabled population. We partnership with churches, apartments, libraries, schools and daycares. We attend community events and host interactive programs. It is our pleasure to share valuable information which may enhance the life of a family.

Reverend Otis Moss’ name is always tied to something positive. On Saturday, March 18th at the UH Otis Moss Jr. Health Center, another good thing took place.

Hundreds of Cleveland residents showed at the UH Otis Moss Jr. Health Center up for a free medical clinic sponsored by Medworks in conjunction with University Hospital. The clinic offered individuals an opportunity to receive general men’s and women’s health exams, vision tests, specialty screenings (dental, skin, podiatry, endocrinology,) mammograms, pediatric dental screenings, nutritional education, insurance enrollment and more. I found out that there are so many members of our community approaching the age of 65 and needing help. They had so many questions regarding the many phone calls they are receiving, as well as the mountain of mail on the kitchen or dining room table!  It can all be so overwhelming.

Well, I’m here to help. My name is LaMonica Jones, and I am a Licensed Insurance Agent. I have over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and my ability to simplify and connect people to resources is unmatched. I’m a married mom of 8 beautiful children. The city of Cleveland has a brand-new radio station that appears to be picking up a full head of steam and moving swiftly down the tracks towards the ever mythical and elusive, “Radioland”.  Welcome to Cleveland’s Smooth Jazz WJZZ.

Cleveland’s Smooth Jazz WJZZ is not really a new station, but a station that is rearing its head to peek out from the darkness after the ravages of Covid-19 forced ownership to close its doors. Temporarily that is.

How to Turn Your Finances Around in the Months Ahead

 

(StatePoint) Many consumers are feeling financial strain after a challenging economic year in 2022. One in three Americans say they are struggling to get by or are in trouble financially, according to Lincoln Financial Group’s Consumer Sentiment Tracker. The study also found that people aren’t necessarily seeing any relief in sight, with 76% believing factors like inflation, market volatility and debt will worsen.

However, there are a few bright spots. Those who had specific financial goals last year were two to three times more likely to say various aspects of their personal finances improved. They were also three times more likely to say they did a great job on their overall financial wellness last year and twice as likely to be optimistic about their finances in 2023. So where should you start in creating and reaching your own financial goals?

Hunger Network Announces Soirée of the Stallions Music Festival

 

CLEVELAND, OH — Hunger Network is excited to announce Soirée of the Stallions: A Night of Music. Hosted by Spruce, Klep, and EYUN of the Vinyl Stallions podcast, the first annual music festival will take
place on February 24th at the Beachland Ballroom & Tavern.

The festival will feature a lineup of local and regional musicians from all over Ohio, including Cleveland, Toledo, and Columbus, with performances by Collin Miller & the Brother Nature, Rubix Groove, Apostle Jones, Mexclado, The Ice Cream Militia, and Wig Doubt. Bands will rotate between the ballroom and
tavern providing a unique and intimate experience for attendees from 5:30 PM until midnight.

Why Experts Say Plastic Recycling Won’t Save the Planet

 

(StatePoint) In the last two years, the global plastic pollution crisis has gotten worse, with more plastic being produced and an even smaller percentage of it being recycled, according to a new report.

While a 2020 Greenpeace USA report anticipated that the declining cost of plastic production would lead to declining rates of recycling, its follow-up report, “Circular Claims Fall Flat Again: 2022 Update,” not only proves this prediction true, but highlights additional barriers to plastic recycling that make it an untenable solution.
